Hayes LoweCity Guards and conscript officers.Mon Feb 5 15:10:10 2001 I believe that the microfilm is indeed under "Capt. Lockett's City Guards", but the names are interchangeable. I can't tell you a source on that, it has been a long time since I researched it. But the Dowdle family info supports that Lockett's Company was located at Talledega. I think that the microfilm does, too. Here is something else found in the Dowdle family info that is relevant to your further discussion: BARD, D., Conscript OfficerLeader of a conscription group in Pickens County. He is noted in Dowdle family's historical memoirs as "very ruthless and cruel". The same family history accused D. Bard and his "conscript clan" of often killing men who were too old to go to the war."ruthless and cruel" Alan J. Pitts, Mon Feb 5 16:06 Source Hayes Lowe, Mon Feb 5 15:37 "City Guard" name Alan J.
