The gravestone procurement still exists... one of the main key items that changed was who could request it... Once upon a time just about anyone could do so... Now it has to originate from one that is related to the subject... If you are a third party of any sorts including a funeral director or official cemetery caretaker... and not documented and confirmed to be related to the individual, they will be declined. Doesn't matter what war or side the person was from. Reportedly due to rather large numbers of complaints reference same... the VAH is suppose to be in process of changing that... When that might actually happen is anyone's guess...
