Burial Location

A relative, Pvt Charles C. Vandiver (C.C. Vandiver) was a Private in Company C. of the 18th Georgia Infantry. The last muster roll on which C.C. Vandiver appeared was dated Nov 1862. Remarks: Sick at Richmond (Assume hospitalized)-No further muster roll. Death likely occurred in Nov or Dec 1862.

It is highly likely that he was hospitalized at a hospital designated for Georgia troops, but have found no indication as to a hospital name.

C.C.was elder of three brothers who served with the Confederates. His middle brother, Georgia C. Vandiver was by G.G. and served in the 13th-16th Battalions of the Georgia Calvary. The younger brother served in the 10th Ga. Calvary and was probably wounded during the battle at Savannah when
Sherman invaded Georgia.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
