Re: Bay St Louis Oct 5 1863
Thanks. Would partisans operate in large numbers. The 9th reported 160 cavalry. I just found this in googlr its from a book titled "The Rebellion Record" 1866. Book states "Bay St. Louis, Miss. — A Union raid was made on this place, October 23, 1863, and a number of prisoners retaken from the enemy" This has to be the same action Im looking for as the 9th recovered prisoners but at same time lost 3 men POW. I think my best bet would be to find the Captain Marshall who was from Mobile and killed.
