Richard Henry H. Burnett is the brother to my G-Grandfayher, Eugene Dimmit Burnett and Fincelious Gray Burnett - sons of Washington Jefferson Burnett. They had other siblings.

I have been researching the BURNETT family history for over 40 yrears, and have much recorded information of the Burnmett Family beginning with Samuel Buenwtt who married Margaret Jane Givens. I have been in touch with Janelle Foster regarding Richard Henry H. Burnett.

In my notes on Richard Henry H. Burnett that I accumulated frim family members for years, and the fiollowing is what I have:

Richard Henry H. Burnett, dourth child of Washington Jefferson Burnett & Eliza Finley Asburywas born January 6, 1847 in Lewistown, MO. He came to Texas with his father and joined the Civil War as a messenger. He was barried first to Rosanna J. Boice, and to them were born three childre- Maggie L. Burnett who was born November 1879 and she married Dr. J. Will Smith - Sallie T. Burnett who was born November 1882 and she married William Baskins - Abe Mulkey Burnett who married Ethel Augusta Newcomb. After Rosanna died, Richatd married Sue Lancaster who was born in Ellis Co., Texas

Richard Henry H. Burnett was a Methodist Minister, and with Abe Mulkey (a driend of his) held revivals all over Texas. At one time he had a farm in Waxahachie, Texas. He was given a silver pitcher by the ladies of the First Methodist Church on Dallas, Texas in memory of a 100 day meeting which produced over 1000 conversions. Richard and Abe Mulkey formed an orpahaage in either Dallas, Texas or Corsicana, TX I can't find the rest of my notes right now....

Somewhere along the line he got into the printing business. At one timehe and his son, Abe Mulkey Burnett, who was named after Abe Mulkey (his friend) were in Seymore, Texas (N. W. Texas) From there, they migrated to Dayton NM, to Toswell, NM, and eventually ended up in Hope, NM (S. E. NM).

He was in his 80's when he died in Hope, NM in December 5, 1927 (Artesia, NM) It was saif he had lost all his miney and didn;t have sufficient funds to pay for his funeral. He is buried in Woodbine Cemetery in Artesia, NM in a grave that was purchased by his son, Abe Burnett, and has s headstone that inly has the following engraved on the headstone "Father Burnett".

Richard Henry H. Burnett's parents are buried in the Myrtle Cemetery in Ennis, Texas.
