Guys,
I think the 1860 census report of this family may help with some of the mysteries of Richard's siblings. The family of 45-year-old Ohio-born saddler, W. J. Burnett lived in Canton Township of northeast Lewis County. Mom was Kentucky-born, 35-year-old Eliza F. Burnett. Their children (all born in MO) by this census report were 24-year-old saddler James S. Burnett, 18-year-old saddler George W. Burnett, 16-year-old Fin Burnett, 14-year-old Rich H. Burnett, eleven-year-old Eugene Burnett, 6-year-old S. Green Burnett (I think it says "S"), and four-year-old Maggie Burnett.

Notice that Richard would have been only 16-years-old during Col. Joe Porter's big recruiting drive through Lewis County, but James S., George W., and Fin would have been old enough. We have encountered teenagers as young as Richard serving many times before, haven't we?

Your Sullivan Burnett would probably be James S. Burnett.

I haven't had much joy finding anything else that would be helpful. I wonder if maybe somebody could find something on Richard H. H. Burnett in a Dallas newspaper when he was an evangelist there. It's a shame we cannot narrow down what years he did that in "Big D."

I wonder if we may find something with "Burnett" horribly misspelled in Confederate service.
