The Alfred M Rowland of the 13th Cav. is listed as having enlisted in Co H 13th Mo Cav on Feb 22 1865 for the duration of 2 years. Per the descriptive muster roll dated 2-25-1865 from Rolla he is described as being 18 years old, born Davies Co Missouri. Occupation: Farmer. He has hazel eyes, stands 5'7" with light hair and a fair complexion. He collected a $200 enlistment bounty and his enlistment is credited to the 9th Congressional district, Newlander, Ralls Co. He was mustered out May 26 1866 at Ft. Leavenworth Ks. He died somtime around 1890 per his wife's widow pension application. He is found in Daviess County 1850 census age 5 in household of Charles and Didama Rowland family #351. He married a Mary Elizabeth Ray on May 6, 1869 in Ray County Missouri.

Alfred Rowland of Co L 6th Mo Cav is indexed as Alfred Rollin as well and is listed as being 36 at time of enlistment in Melville MO (Dade County MO) to Capt Kirby's Company, August 12 1862, Mustered out New Orleans, Aug 1 1865. The 1860 Dade County Census lists him as family 840, age 34, born Missouri with wife Maryann age 31 of Kentucky. Children are Margaret A age 12, Charles 9, Elizabeth 6, Louisa 3. Thus these are 2 different people...
