It appears that Reuben and his brother James Wesley Hargrove settled in Missouri about 1853/54. The family remnants returned to Kentucky in the early 1870s ending up in Graves and Calloway County. Araminta married a
a second cousin John Allen Hargrove and died in child birth in 1884 in Vernon Co Kentucky. George married and relocated to Vernon Co Missouri and raised several children there.

Per Kentucky Adjutant General's listing James W served with a Kentucky unit enlisting in Co I 48th Kentucky Infantry on Nov 21 1863. His wife subsequently attempted a widow's pension.

This would fit with the afore mentioned late 1863 year of death for Reuben Hargrove.
