I want to clarify the original source for the article on the Claiborne Invincibles (Company H, 17th Louisiana Regiment). Dr. Williams was quoting from this original work:

Harris, D. W. and B. M. Hulse. The History of Claiborne Parish Louisiana. New Orleans: W. B. Stansbury & Co. Press, 1886, pp. 211-218.

When they prepared their history of Claiborne Parish in the 1880s, they apparently had officers of each company from Claiborne to write brief histories of their units. Harper and Hay wrote the history of this unit, but I think it was only published in the work of Harris and Hulse.

This work was reprinted in 1976 by the North Louisiana Historical Association.
