PC Crowd... Historical revisionists..... hardly... not even close...

Its one thing to preserve history... and/or ones heritage... or identify themselves as part of a history of people or a given region by its past struggles and merits of bravery and resolve..... and to properly honor same...

Its another thing to stand about in confederate reenactor uniform with a beer in one hand... and a flag in the other yelling "yeeehaw"..... (which is not the real rebel yell)..... Yelling about the Confederacy... and make statements of topics when they generally may have little to no real academic of historical knowledge nor firm grasp of their own respective related true history or the actual Confederacy.... other than various myths, folklore and stories...

"I aint wearing no blue... my grandpappy would be spinning in his grave".... fully content to wear the grey when the force ratio for the given event is far lopsided.... So you end up with 500 entrenched Rebs... being attacked and overrun by 30 Yanks... how stupid does that look....

There are those that seem to think that what they do on the reenactment field is somehow going to change or alter the history of events that took place 150 years ago... breaking or ignoring the scenario's for a scripted event... free lancing and doing their own thing regardless what the event script calls for.... refuse to take a hit or be captured when the script calls for it... playing what we call the invincible "John Wayne" syndrome...

This is typically what many refer to as the neo-confederate... lots of rhetoric.. very little real knowledge of history... attempting to relive something that no longer existent except in their own mind and altered concept of reality. How does this actually honor one ancestry or emulate the bravery of those that actually fought and died 150 years ago.. it doesn't... a bunch of guys donning grey with alternate reasoning's and purpose... playing army and wallowing in some distant theoretical idea of Victorian era grandeur by wearing something grey.... frequently incorrectly at that... There are those also on the other side of the field equally venomous of similar habits embracing a warped interpretation of historical matters of that side... Every extreme has its equal and opposing extreme as well.... Majority of what's in the middle is those that read, research and emulate the respect and honor of those that have walked before us equally... eager to portray and educate whatever may be needed for the sake of a common cause to teach and represent history as it actually was 150 years ago... not a rejuvenated purpose or cause transposed in modern day... If one wants to receive respect.. they must know how to give it also... you get back what you give... If you don't respect or at least be cordial for their stance... don't be surprised if they give nothing back to you in return...
