As I read "easily sewn," for some reason my mind filled in the wrong advice, thinking you were going to suggest multi-purpose flags being sewn together -- recalling The Red Skelton classic in which he marched between the lines carrying two flags sewn togther (and a uniform to match) that displayed Union to those in Blue and Confed to those in grey. (And then the wind changed, IIRC.)
