Re: Confederate Command Uniforms

Colt45,

What?! Seriously?!

Please present the sources for your generalization on the issuing of clothing. The government did not issue uniforms to enlisted soldiers? So were did the all the clothing that was produced at the various depots go?

You may want look at any number of compiled service records (CSRs) and see the slips with clothing issue notes or go into the company officers CSRs and see issues of clothing to the company for the soldiers. You can also follow it up the chain of command with the Field & Staff and the quartermaster officers at all levels. I know for a fact that soldiers in the Army of Tennessee were issued clothing right up to the surrender.

Respectfully,
