I would imagine Alan that the Remingtons with the similar size ball and charge would be the same.What amazes me is how difficult the revolvers would be to load even with paper cartridges under any type of stress.Cartridges and caps would have been dropped,balls rammed in wrong with the jammer and if mounted your horse is going nuts.
Is probable that any type of close cavalry melee would be to fire every cylinder that would fire then either pull a saber/swing up your carbine or clear out and find some calm place to reload.Now if your a yankee and have a repeating rifle that certainly throws a new twist on the situation.
