Camp Texas (1862) and later Camp Price (1863) were located on the same ground east of Mabelvale Pike where it crosses Fourche Creek. The Worth James Airport was built on the land many years ago.
Geyer Springs on the high ground on the opposite side of the creek provided water for the troops. I think, but can't verify, that the area was called the old Ashley Campground prior to the War.
