Thanks for your input. My question is: Should I discount a copy of his original CSA military record that states that he was a soldier in the New CO. A, 8 Arkansas Infantry? I know that only a few men made it back. According to his record, he was wounded at the battle of Chickamunga Sept 19, 1863. I have no proof that he made it back to Van Buren County. Some researchers list him as dying in 1867 with no source. I found a small court document about his probate of Land in 1872 Van Buren County.
