Re: Ark. History Commission
In Response To: Ark. History Commission ()

This is a joke and the thought process of even HAVING this vote is an abomination to the political thinking! I am mad as hell that something like this even comes up! Do these jokers not realize that the historic people and events from their past and the state's past is why they are in THEIR POSITIONS NOW to wield the power they do?!?! Our people and leaders were buried long ago when they passed. Looks like they could have another layer of dirt shoveled onto their graves with this! Narrow and shallow thinking went into this process and no one looks at the future picture of the research and history yet to be found or explored! It's thinking like this that has put so much history into locked attics and basments and vaults and just assumed that everything has been already told, found or said! I volunteered at a cemetery in Kansas City for five years and became the historian for the cemetery. I found things about the dead there that even Kansas City historians, RESPECTED and revered historians, didnt even know!!!
History is to be found each and every day. Historic facts that are wrong and need to be righted. Unmarked graves yet to be found. Stories thought to be finished, when the REAL story is still out there. There is no conscience for those that vote to back this and I hope for those that do back this and have a hand in shutting down the AHC are buried in unmarked and graves and their political careers are forgotten and deemed unimportant enough to not be studied by future historians and students.

Sincerely angry,
Richard Stewart
