Re: Stagecoach Rd, northern Lonoke County

About 5 miles south of there on the Brownsville/Hickory Plains Road at the Deal farm is where a Yankee cavalry patrol saw Doc Rayburne and Mr Deal visiting. Doc and Deal were standing in the Road, Doc was on Limber Jim. The Yanks gave chase, but Doc and Limber Jim soon left the patrol far behind. Didn't go so well for Mr Deal, the cavalry patrol soon return and burnt all of the Deal farm out buildings leaving only the house. (This comes from the Deal family history and was published in the newspaper many years ago.)
