The Stagecoach Road route from Austin south to The Military Road is as follows. Starting at Old Austin going southwest a little over two miles you come to Campground Rd. Here you are passing the western edge of Camp Nelson. The Stagecoach Road went straight accross campground Road. No road today but is the driveway to a home, the owner filled in the orginal roadbed some thirty + years ago with a bulldozer. The old roadbed continues south and runs into what is now New Country Road about a quarter mile north of Hwy 321 (Mount Carmel Road). Still heading south accross Hwy 321, the old roadbed is the driveway to the Tommy Garland home. Winding southwest it comes into Hwy 89 just north of Mount Tabor Road. It follows Hwy 89 about three miles south and veers off to the right in a curve and is called Old Stagecoach Road today. It works its way southwest to Kerr Station Road just north of Graham Road. Now going south on Kerr Station Road it runs into Military Road in a sharp curve three miles east of Jacksonville. From there the route was the Military Road on into Huntersville. The old Stagecoach roadbed that is no longer a road and that has not been disturbed from progress is worn several feet deep all along its path. At Austin the road also went north to Stoney Point and on to Searcy, but was more know as the Searcy Road.
