Mitchell,

I did some looking and it looks like the 6th Tennessee Regiment Calvary -Union -not to be confused with the Regiment with the same name fighting for the South, had quite a bad reputation-even with the Union side. I noticed quite a few companies within that Regiment but did not see Company L on any rosters. Also I think at one time they were dismounted. Does that mean they had their horses taken away; possibly for stealing all of their previous neighbors' horses? They seemed to have quite the reputation for resolving personal issues via military force. The nickname they earned was Hursts' Wurst, I believe-based on the website I found by Kevin McCann. What battles were they involved in? I love history but most of my knowledge pertains to world, not military history.
