Agreed, but not just Christians.

There were those of Jewish descent and faith, as well. There were many more of these men fighting for the Confederacy than is generally recognized.

I have yet to encounter any of the Muslim faith, but undoubtedly there must have been some. I have come across some Arabic names, i.e. Hasson, but cannot verify their origins or faith.

There were also Native Americans [Indians] who undoubtedly were not Christian, having kept their native pagan religion.

I know that on the Union side, there were men from the Orient, undoubtedly believers of some of the various Oriental religions. I have yet to verify any in the Confederacy, but again, undoubtedly there were some.

Some [many/most?]of the black Confederates are sure to have maintained their Christianized versions of their African religions, for example hoodoo, voodoo, and Sangria.

Hindus? I doubt it, but who knows?

As I said on the North Carolina board earlier today, our country was very diverse as to its citizen's origins, even at that early date.
