Steve,
I thik if anything of that sort exists, it
will be found in one of the following:

Covington County History by Wiley Ward or
Covington County History, 1821-1976 by Gus
and Ruby Bryan; The Ward book has a great
deal of CW era unit histories w/ muster
rolls but don't about the home folks and
and their activities; there is county
Heritage Book in the mill and should have
lots of handed-down stories, but I guess
we both know about those; seem to get more
blown out of shape with each telling.

I think you had mentioned Balkum/Balcom, etc
in one of your earlier posts; the only ones
I know of in the SE Ala area were from over
in Henry and what is now Houston County
and some few in Dale.
