Only ones I know who have written to any
extent ref Ward's activities are Judge
Val McGee from here in Dale County and
the late Fred Watson from Coffee County;
Jim Ward is included in some of the county
histories which I do not have the titles
for; as I remember, Watson wrote of the
raid on Elba and some of the activities
in the Geneva area; Ward and Lt Sanders
of the 1st Cav would have been most active
in SE Ala from Feb to July 1865; needless
to say, followng the war, someone from Dale
tracked Sanders to Ga and done him in.
