Chris,

Both Bond and Mount are shown on the Pike list,
which means that they most likely resided in
the county prior to the war; Sgt William Bond
did not survive the war, KIA Bentonville; Pvt
W.P. "Pinkney" Mount did survive, paroled at
Greensboro May 1, 1865; I find no trace of
him following the war in either Pike Pension
or Cemetery Records; there was a Thomas
Morehead mentioned in an 1889 issue of The
Troy Messenger as being a Pike Veteran; I
cannot find anything about him at all; could
there have been a family connection prior to
the war, or a coincidence?
