Chris NelsonBond and MountFri Dec 8 16:53:13 2000 I doubt it, but I wouldn't even know where to look. The Morehead clan of which J.C. belonged was prominent in KY (his father was once governor) and NC. It certainly seems clear from all this that Morehead died in Alabama, either in Pike or Barbour County. Pike and Barbour are contiguous, so it would not be surprising that residents of Eufaula (Pugh) and Troy (Bond)knew each other. It seems I should focus on Pike County, possibly Troy. Perhaps Morehead was there when he fell ill, just as A Co. was ready to head north. It's possible Morehead was sick as early as September and just took a long time to die. Consumption? Were there any Confederate hospitals in Troy? If so, perhaps I should look at a cemetery there?Bond-Mount Homer Jones, Sat Dec 9 10:27 Morehead Chris Nelson, Sat Dec 9 17:31 Bond-Mount Homer Jones, Sat Dec 9 18:49 4th Cav. history Hayes Lowe, Sun Dec 10 07:39 Bond-Mount Homer Jones, Sun Dec 10 08:20 Morehead Chris Nelson, Sun Dec 10 10:50 Morehead query Alan Pitts, Mon Dec 11 13:58 Works family.
