It's starting to look like Morehead died in a Confed. hospital in either Montgomery or Eufaula, wherever the 4th was in November 1863. If he doesn't turn up in any grave/hospital-death indexes for those two places, what is the likelihood he'd be listed in the Montgomery paper (don't know what it was called, but I assume ther was one)? It's curious that M's service record gives a specific death date (by way of his cousin, George Work, who showed up in Richmond looking for back pay) but not a location, only "alleged, in hospital." Somehow, Work found out about M's death, possibly through the paper or a courier. Still looking for Work's residence.
