Only George Work/s.
Sun Dec 10 12:01:36 2000

The following is the only possibility that I have found for a George Work/s in this time period. George was apparently not a popular name in the Works family. This George seems to have been born "up North", but who knows where he went later in life.

"James Work-from Dr. Charles E. Work, M.D. of Cincinati, O. comes the following pedigree list. James was born 1777 in Ireland and died 6 Sep 1858 in Pa. Children: Joseph, William, George, John, James, Mary Ann, Jenny, Sally, Nancy, Lucinda and Elijah. Elijah (1811-1876) b. PA, md Julia Ann Miller. [...]
Dr. Charles E. Work has other information and material on collateral lines of this family. James Work was about 12 when he came to PA from Ireland and that he later moved to Kentucky, then to Ohio where he settled in Pleasant Township in 1797. If this helps you it is from WORK FAMILY HISTORY - Twelve Generations of Works in America 1690-1969 Hamilton, Publishers Press
Good Luck hope it helps"

The "Work Family History" may have further information on George, and maybe a George Jr. I have not seen this book, yet.
