Thanks for the reply. This is the most detailed info that has so far come to light concerning the death of Robert Seay. Does the database cite a source for the information?

It looks like this family did a good job of responding to the call in defense of their state. The father gave his life and three sons and at least one son-in-law served - although one son appears to have deserted.

With regard to the son-in-law, he was Lewellen (sometimes Lewellyn) Lloyd whose tombstone in Marshall, TX bears the inscription "Proud Confederate Soldier". I have not been able to locate his service record either.
