Captain J H Duncan who as the Senior Captain on the Field commanded the 16th Missisisppi at Fort Gregg. New Evidence.
A man named Frank K Foote from Port Gibson, Missisisppi,
He carried messages at Fort Gregg, but left the Fort before the fight.
In the 1880s he vowed to recorded the names of all the men from Claiborne County, Missisisppi who wore the Gray. And no, he did not record them all, but I think you would agree he got a lot of them.
He States in some of his List that Captain J H Duncan of the 16th Missisisppi is buried in Port Gibson. Not evidence, but should be considered.
