Fort Gregg - The Confederate Alamo

I would like to open a Thread to Debate and Discuss Fort Greg - The Confederate Alamo.
Mr.John Fox did an excellent job with his book. My interest.
The 12th and 16th Mississippians were very heavily involved.
Several Companies in these two regiments were from the Vicksburg, Claiborne County and what ever.
It is not unusual, there is at least one in the Private Section of the Vicksburg City Cemetery which is aka as Cedar Hill, to find a Grave Stone that states something about him being at Fort Gregg.
This is what got me interested, i discovered a stone in an abandoned family Cemetery in back country Claiborne County, MIssisisppp.
I will begin the discussions by stating.
"Many Historians have given many reasons why no 16th & 12th Missisisppi Regiment Fightig men were not surrendered at Appotomtax. Only Drovers, Musicians & Medical Personal."
The reason was very simply, all the 12th & 16th Fighting Men were Killed or Captured and thus were in prison at Point Look Out when Appotomtax (Or however it is spelled.) Occured Sam P
in Vicksburg, Mississippi
