Re: Echoes of War - Post Traumatic Civil War

WTH? OMG. I thought the Blue Pill (or Red Pill) was only in the Matrix. (You take the blue pill, the story ends. You wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes." A bluepill refers to a human that is not aware of the true nature of the Matrix.)

Old soldier's disease? Shameful.

And, I am sure the complications of wounds, fractures, etc caught up with them. I wonder if there are any good reads on this subject.

I started watching "Mercy Street" on PBS. "Inspired by real people and events, Mercy Street goes beyond the front lines of the Civil War and into the chaotic world of the Mansion House Hospital in Union-occupied Alexandria, Virginia".

It's not fabulous but gives good insight to soldiers, caregivers, family, slaves and etc as well business. Moral decisions - taking care of sick/injured confederates in a union situation. I am sure this was the same on both sides. Union sympathizers -Confederate sympathizers, etc. (instead of human sympathizers)...

I will do some research next week too. Thanks
