CPT (later MAJ) James Leonard WHITE and CPT Robert F. McCASLAN were both from Abbeville District, so it seems likely that the company was organized there, and most of the men lived there. The members from other districts may have had relatives in the company and chose to serve with them, or were later conscripts who were assigned to the company. An examination of the Compiled Service Records of the members would probably answer a lot of questions about its organization and composition. They are available on microfilm at the SC Archives and History Department here in Columbia, if that is convenient to you.
