Jackson County, Ga. had a prominent role in Civil War history. The Vandiver families presence in Jackson County began in early 1800 and exists today.

I have perhaps a 100 books, wit h themes that paraphrase early area newspapers, others record local events, i.e marriages,funerals, criminal trials, fires, weather conditions, etc.

I have computer files that record C.W. battles that occurred in Southern states. The majority of reports were prepared with obsolete software. Sadly, family members have no interest in Genealogy except reading a product of my research.

I am considering donating my research to a local library. The county library in Commerce, Georgia has early documents, i.e.Church Minutes,records of marriages performed by Justice of Peace The staff at this library is very helpful in providing data. Their charge for photo copies are very reasonable.
