Thanks George. I have their military records and did some research. The father, Jeremiah Buchanan, Sr. was mortally wounded at the Battle of Black Rock on 30 Dec. 1813 and he died at 11 Mile Creek. Hercules and the other two sons were transferred to the First Regiment of Rifles. Moses and Jeremiah both died of disease in 1833. I think it was yellow fever.
Both of Hercules' oldest sons served in the CSA. I think they both became partisans later.
