Not. Their first objective was to secede from the imperfect union and save themselves from tyranny. Upon accepting the reality that invasion was likely, they created a confederacy for the sake of defense---to save themselves. If I am wrong, then please show me a single Ordinance of Secession that even mentions a union of Southern states, perfect or otherwise. The Confederate States of America was an afterthought. It did not take long, but it was AFTER the secession of the first seven states.
