The Constitution is far more important than Union. Individual States could provide their citizens with life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, without the Union, but not without the Constitution!
The Constitution of the United States of America was written to avert tyranny and ensure the freedom of all. Those that allow the Constitution to be circumvented or diminished in any way invite dictatorship.
