I cannot make out the second line of the Remark section, beginning "20, 1862, ???? Hd. Qrs."

It is probable that Jean sounded like Jian, so someone wrote it that way. And Pierre on the hand-written census forms certainly looks like Piene/Peine. There were lots of Bourgs back in southern La, but not necessarily a common name in Vicksburg.
