Skillikalia Bayou or Creek, a Choctaw Indian word, is spelled many different ways.
There are many variations.
I do not know which one is Correct.

Several Two or Three miles of hte raod from Milldale to Templeton's Plantation is long abandoned.
The location of Templeton's Plantation was / is a country community named Villa Nova.
It is today on "Oak Ridge Road" which in anti - bellem days was known as the Vicksburg - Benton Highway. All the way from the Steam Boat Landing at the Foot of Jackson Street in Down Town Vicksburg to Grenada and nevercrossed a culvert, it followed the ridge line the entire distantce.
It is Known in Civil War Lore as the "Mechanicsburg Corridor," it passed through the village of Mechanicsburg in Southern Yazoo County, Missisisppi.

Some people think / suspect, but cannot prove, this was the route General Grant intended to utilize to get at the back of Vicksburg.

Did not work when that Port Gibson, Missisisppi, boy and his Calvary got around the flank and destroyed General Grant's Huge Rail Raod Concentratin Yard at Holly Springs.
I would suspect we will never know.
