These are my current mystery soldiers.

W. C. Paxton, Aug 24 1838 - Oct 16, 1898, bur. Cedar Hill (City) Cemetery, Vicksburg, MS, has an Iron Cross of Honor. He married Lucy Gibbs. What unit was he in? Of course, many out-of-state soldiers settled in Vicksburg after the war, so he doesn't necessarily have to be a Miss. soldier.

R. E. Paxton in a different lot, same cemetery, lived 1844-1908. He has an Iron Cross of Honor. His wife's name is Anna M. Paxton.

James M. Hunt, M.D., Jun 11, 1830 - Jul 17, 1889, has a fine monument in Cedar Hill and an Iron Cross.
