I am researching CSA soldiers. Unfortunately, many men have civilian grave markers with no mention of CSA service on their markers, but they do have Iron Crosses of Honor on their graves -- or the empty hook where a Cross once was. The NPS sailor-soldier search site isn't always helpful, for example, in the case of identical names and different units. Even when I skim the units' histories, I am still unable to identify which man is most likely "mine." My question is, is there a listing of CSA Iron Cross Recipients? What I need is to identifiy their units in order to read their service records. Thanks for any help.
