I didn't make contact with Sandra until around 2005-2006. I had assumed Sandra had obtained a copy of the death certificate, so I really can't answer that question. I have ordered William's sister's (Dora) death certificate. At that time, I was "chasing" the Russell side of my family as well as the Eckles side....."Chasing" the Russells is what lead me to Sandra...Dora McCurdy (William's half sister-Sandra's Grandfather) married GW Russell who were my Great Grands. After I dead ended with my searches on the families I was then working on, I put everything aside until recently.
I have also started researching my Adams and Turner line in my family...so I might get you to help me chase them as well!! They were from Arkansas and Louisiana.
