Re: 3rd. Regt. Miss. Cav. (State Troops)

Based on this information about Capt. Brown and the photo showing his son Edwin Rice Brown, I've got more homework to do. F. M. Rembert's wife and Edwin Brown Rembert's mother, Virginia Patrick, was from the Brown fmily and she too is buried in Copiah Co. Her grandfather was Edwin R. Brown. My task is to see if Capt. H. G. D. Brown desended from Edwin R. Brown as well. By his naming his second son Edwin Rice, the odds may be good, and does the R. in my gggg grandfather's name "Edwin R. Brown" stand for Rice as well. Any suggestions on where to start. It seems when you start unraveling these family ties, you find more and more. We were in the Hazelhurst cemetery on Saterday last, when the heavy rains and lighting came thru and didn't get to see as much as we wanted; there are both Rea's and Brown's buried there.

Thanks, Ed Rea
