Yep I live in Cape. Elizabeth (Presley) Abbey died in Cape Girardeau in 1861. Daniel was a petitioner to the Scott County Court in 1860 to incorporate Benton MO, now county seat of Scott County. It looks like their farm was between Benton and (New) Hamburg MO and Edward T (son) lived on or near it till moving to Mine La Motte, Madison, Co, MO in the late 1870s.

About 1200 civil war dead buried at Old Lorimer with few records and fewer marked graves. The Cemetery was essentially next door to the small pox hospital north of the major fortifications and camp in the city.
