Oh yes, one more thing. The steamer was the "Henry Von Phul," according to "Way's Packet Directory, 1848-1994." on page 213. She was a side-wheeler made in Paducah, KY in 1860 to run between St. Louis and New Orleans in peacetime. The Union quartermaster corps leased her as a troop transport during the war, and she survived despite one or two close calls to 15 November 1866 when she caught fire and burned above Donaldsonville, Louisiana.
