There is a lot about hook-handed Alvin Cobb, but you are looking in the wrong place. I love the old county histories of the 1880s through World War 1 for the detail-rich and rather accurate guerrilla warfare material they printed in their Civil War chapters. However, some of those publishers decided that war feeling was still too strong in some counties and did not print much or anything about the Civil War there--much to our loss!

Sadly, I have never seen anything that lists the men that rode with him.

Cobb was from Montgomery County and operated during 1861 and 1862 primarily in Callaway, Montgomery, and Warren Counties. He returned briefly between August and October 1863, and there is a rumor somebody saw him back in his operating area in February 1864, too before he alledgedly moved to the Indian Territory (known lately as Oklahoma).

--Peterson, McGhee, Lindberg, and Daleen's splendid 1995 "Sterling Price's Lieutenants," p. 103;
--and lots of period newspaper articles in microfilm
