Hi. This is certainly an interesting document that you provide. A check into one of the Quantrill's Guerrillas lists shows the following listing for Vaughan/Vaughns.

"Vaughn, Dan Quantrill Led guerrilla band at Aubrey, KS 31 Jan 1865. Also Independence, Lawrence. Survived war, settled in Texas
Vaughn, James A. Quantrill One of Quantrill's first recruits, 12/25/1861. Formed with nine other men at the farm of Mrs. Samual Crump between Independence and Blue Springs. Said to have been the beginning of Quantrill's band as an entity with a separate and distinct leader. Captured in a Kansas City barbers shop and hung 29 May 1863 at Ft. Leavenworth.
