Re: Battle of Irish Bend Captured Confederates

There are records under his name under three organizations, see below. Note, there is very little information to be found therein. These may be procured through the service noted in the Red enclosed box above.

I checked the Texas Confederate Pension Index, do not find an application under his name or that of a widow. Any soldier who served honorably was eligible for a Confederate pension from the state in which he resided when filing. These were first authorized ca 1890 and were only provided from former Confederate states.

Send me your email address and I will forward the quite lengthy report of the Irish Bend affair. ggmartin55@att.net

Note also, the lengthy thread in this board on Capt. E. W. Fuller.

* This company was organized May 14, 1862, as Capt. E. W. Fullers Company (St. Martin Rangers),Louisiana Cavalry, and is reported to have been assigned to the 16th Battalion Louisiana Infantry as Company D in June, 1863. When the consolidated Crescent Regiment Louisiana Infantry was formed it became Company H of that organization. It finally became Captain King's Company Louisiana Artillery.

The regiment was formed in November 3, 1863, by the consolidation of the Crescent Regiment Louisiana Infantry, the 16th Battalion Louisiana Infantry (also known as the Confederate Guards Response Battalion), and the 11th Battalion Louisiana Infantry.
