Boy , you guys are brutal ! The worst I have heard was that it was probably made by the CVA or Confederate Veterans Association, but still about 100 years old. Could you please be more specific as to why you believe this is "fake"? I know it's in very good condition but I thought that was a good thing. Some groments were used at the time, or could they have been put on after ?
I have the solders name and did some research.. The family lives in the same town, I went to the cemetery where the solder was buried and saw the headstone with his name on it and it said "civil war vet" on headstone. I also have his military records, he did exist. Doesn't this add more credibility to the flag? The museum thought it was real. It was logged in their books as received in 1973 from the family. Please advice further.
