Mr. Biggs, I was referred to you by a friend hoping you can provide any information or advice you may have in assisting me in authenticating a civil war confederate battle flag I have in my possesion.I believe it may be a captured civil war battle flag. My flag measures approx. 36" x 42". It has 3 metal grommets on one side. I have very reliable info that it is authentic. I purchased it from a museum in New Jersey. The flag was donated to the museum in the early 1970's from a family member of the solder.I have the name of the union solder who brought it back . I think it may be from the battel of Channcellorsvile. I also have the millitary records showing the solder was in fact in that battle. Any advice ? Where do I find an expert to verify this ?
I appreciate any info you or anyone else could provide. I have attached 4 photo's of the flag for review.
