Good point. I know of no detailed study ever done for these smaller flags that we can draw from for sources, etc. Maybe some were for Bibles but I think that Bob Bradley's point about the Bibles of the era often being smaller than the flags themselves does create a problem.

I have seen a few letters that came with small flags sent to soldiers from wives, etc. that state simply, "here is a small flag for you," etc.
