The wagon train was captured at Easling Farm at Longview on the Saline River March 29 1864. Dockery and Colonel William Crawford were fighting up stream at Mt Elba and a group of yankees made the raid and captured the lightly guarded wagon train being guarded by Poes Bn. It was part of the Pine Bluff garrison. Col Powell Clayton, 5 Kansas Cav states he also captured a flag as well. Col Crawford mentions losing all his personal effects in that raid to his wife. All he had were the clothes on his back
